The Little Bee Hut
A History of my little adventure.
I started beekeeping, which is the most fascinating hobby I have ever done. I originally thought it was just a matter of putting a beehive in the garden and collecting the honey every now and again. There was of course a lot more to it than that, as I soon discovered. It has been fun learning about these wonderful, amazing little creatures.
So as the winter months arrived, there was little I could do around the bees, other than make sure they have food and that they are tucked up warm and cosy. My attention turned to the beeswax and what could be done with it. With a lot of research about products, ingredients, recipes and safety issues, I begun building a file of things I wanted to make. And so it began the melting, mixing, infusing and generally making a trail of wax, oils and butters in my wake.
The Products
I eventually made some products and some kind friends became my human Guinea pigs. The Little Bee Hut was created. Once the recipes were perfected, I encountered the legal aspects of making and selling skincare products. These took a while to sort and understand. All is now sorted for the products I sell and all are cosmetically tested.
Vegetarians and Vegans
All my products are made using natural ingredients and are suitable for vegetarians. Due to many of my products containing beeswax and/or honey they are not suitable for vegans.
Cosmetically tested
All our skincare products have been cosmetically tested, as required to sell these products within the UK
Crochet products
I learnt to crochet when I was about 7 years old. I used to do a lot of swimming and had two sessions with an hour gap in between. There was someone waiting by the side of the pool crocheting. We began talking and she showed my how to crochet. I love the way a ball of wool can be transformed into something beautiful.
All our crochet toys are UKCA tested.
